Corporate lawyer joins Everys Solicitors team

Everys Solicitors in Somerset will welcome a new member of their team when Sally Taylor joins the firm in April.

Ms Taylor will work out of Everys’ Taunton and Bridgwater offices from April 3rd to mark her return to the South West having worked for major investment banks and private firms.

Having grown up in Taunton and attended Taunton School, Ms Taylor gained a business degree from the University of Westminster and succeeded in assistant vice-president roles for Fuji Capital Markets Corporation, which involved working in the London, New York and Hong Kong, and an investment bank.

She retrained at the end of the 1990s to qualify as a solicitor in 2002.

Ms Taylor said: “Working in law within business was always my plan. Following qualifying, I thoroughly enjoyed the advisory role that a solicitor plays in making deals happen.”

Again, the mother-of-three, Ms Taylor headed for the City, first, as a trainee solicitor and then working for Barclays Capital when she qualified.

Following a year in Brighton, where Ms Taylor set up and established a commercial firm of solicitors to deal with employment, corporate, litigation and private client work, she returned to Barclays Capital to leverage her experience even further.

“Barclays Capital provided me with a breadth of experience advising on transactions both within the investment bank and the corporate bank,” said Ms Taylor.” I advised on loans to sole traders as well as structured deals with international companies and government agencies.  I sat on industry committees lobbying the EC for change in financial regulation.  I enjoyed the role and working within very close and professional teams.”

Having recently returned to Somerset, Ms Taylor is keen to use her expertise to assist businesses in the region.

James Griffin, Everys’ managing partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome someone with Sally’s experience to our firm. Her extensive work in the City is invaluable and can be used to great effect to benefit our corporate clients.”

Ms Taylor concluded: “I was looking for a role that would allow me to use my experience and skills but within an environment that actively encouraged a strong and personal connection between myself and my clients.  I am a firm believer in that relationship being built on traditional values of trust and sound professional service.  Everys place great value on the ongoing relationships they have with their clients.  I am looking forward to starting work at Everys.”

Ms Taylor is also is a trustee of the Citizens Advice Bureau in Sedgemoor and volunteers for her local cub scout pack.
