Everys Solicitors celebrates Championship-winning season with Somerset County Cricket Club

Everys Solicitors rubbed shoulders with cup champions from the 2001 cricket season at a celebratory sportsmen’s dinner held at Somerset County Cricket Club.

As sponsors of the event, staff from Everys’ new Taunton branch in Hankridge Way mingled with current and former players including Marcus Trescothick, Andy Caddick, Keith Parsons, Rob Turner, Peter Bowler, Mike Burns, Richard Johnson, Steffan Jones, Ian Blackwell and Jason Kerr to celebrate SCCC’s win over Leicestershire in the final of the C&G Trophy at Lord’s.  It was the first time the club had lifted major silverware in 18 years.

Everys invited clients and guests from the county and took the opportunity to present a cheque for £350.65 to Somerset-based charity School in a Bag.

Bruce Brooker, Everys’ commercial director, said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening that we were only too pleased to support as a Taunton law firm that loves cricket! It was great to see the majority of the 2001 team back at The County Ground and to hear some of their tales from that season."

“It was also a good opportunity to hand over a cheque to Luke Simon from School in a Bag. The money was raised by a raffle at our Christmas party and will mean 25 bags full of educational equipment will be on its way to needy children very soon.”
