Everys Solicitors to hold free agricultural seminar

Everys Solicitors is remaining loyal to its rural roots by offering a free seminar that will give legal advice to landowners and farmers.

The evening event is being held at The Deer Park Country House Hotel in Honiton on Thursday, October 16, 2014.

The speakers from Everys, and joint sponsor Savills, will be led by the head of the firm’s commercial law team, Kate Stamp, who specialises in rural and agricultural businesses and will discuss the topic of ‘The family farming business’.

Associate Martin Justice will share his knowledge on wills, Savills’ director Penny Dart will give an update on the farmland market, and new Everys partner Jamie Foster will offer his advice on ‘Regulation in the Countryside’.

Ms Stamp said: “Legal concerns can get in the way of the smooth-running of a farm or land-based business. We have years of expertise at our disposal to help farmers and landowners over these hurdles so they get on with their busy day to day working lives. We hope this seminar will give them some sound advice and will answer any questions they have around rural law.”

Everys is a member of the Country Land & Business Association and the Agriculture Law Association (ALA) with some of its rural team members accredited with fellowships of the ALA; the highest specialist qualification the Association can grant.

Registration for the seminar will be from 7pm with the event starting at 7.30pm followed by a Q&A session and a light supper at 9pm.

The event is free but attendees need to book beforehand by emailing Katie Brook at katie.brook@everys.co.uk or calling her on 01392 848936.
