Everys Solicitors top up School in a Bag funds

Everys Solicitors has topped up School in a Bag’s funds with a cheque for £446.91 made up of donations from visitors to the Honiton Show.

The firm has dedicated its fundraising efforts to School in the Bag for 2014 to help poor, orphaned, vulnerable and disaster-affected children throughout the world.

Everys hosted two stands at the Honiton Show which were visited by existing and potential clients throughout the day.

Bruce Brooker, Everys’ commercial director, said: “The Honiton Show is obviously a great event for networking but it also provided us with an opportunity to collect some extra funds and promote awareness of our chosen charity in exchange for our free hospitality. Everys would like to thank all our visitors for their generosity.”

School in a Bag is part of the Piers Simon Appeal that makes financial contributions to the victims of disasters. Piers Simon was killed in the 2004 Boxing Day Indian Ocean tsunami and the charity was set up by his family.

Each rucksack is filled with stationery, learning resources and eating utensils that will enable a child to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves and learn.

Piers’ brother Luke Simon, the charity liaison officer for School in a Bag, collected the cheque from Everys’ head office in Exeter.
