Experienced private client team provides local wills service in Exmouth

Everys Solicitors in Exmouth is in the favourable position of having an experienced team of wills, trusts, probate and tax experts at its disposal.

This means that the residents of Exmouth and the surrounding areas need not travel into Exeter or elsewhere to gain legal advice in this area as the expertise is right on their doorsteps.

The Exmouth private client team of Margaret Broom, Alison Jessop, Sue Jones and Nicholas Strong has more than 100 years of experience between them.

Miss Broom said: “When you add up all our years working in the private client field it makes rather alarming reading! However, it should offer comfort to our clients in that as individuals and as a team we have dealt with many issues involving wills, trusts, probate and tax and we are therefore primed to use our extensive expertise and experience for their benefit.”

Miss Broom was admitted as a solicitor in 1986 and is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) while Mrs Jessop is a tax manager with three decades of experience working in income tax and capital gains tax. Mr Strong is a chartered legal executive with a further 30 years of experience in wills and probate, all of them spent working in Exmouth. Miss Jones is a chartered legal executive specialising in powers of attorney and the Court of Protection. She has been a member of STEP since 1995 and a member of Solicitors for The Elderly since 2003.

“Providing an excellent private client legal service is not just about understanding the law,” said Miss Broom. “We realise that our clients need us to understand how it applies to their unique circumstances. We take the time to get to know them so that our advice is totally relevant and utterly practical.

“Whether they are writing their first will, revising a will following relationship breakdown or simply updating their will, we can give complete advice to ensure that a client’s will is entirely appropriate for their particular circumstances.

“Clients are increasingly concerned about making provision for their later years and their care needs. We assist with the preparation of lasting powers of attorney and directions regarding future medical treatment. We can also give people advice concerning an elderly relative, a vulnerable family member or their carers.”

In addition, Everys also understands that being an executor of a will is a complicated process. Everys’ probate solicitors will advise or assist executors to minimise the personal liability that being an executor may bring and can explain what each step of the probate process means.
